Bitame Lucia Nursery and Primary School, Nkolfoulou, Cameroon (Nabuur village)
Good day, it is 23. 11. 2024, Saturday in 47. week.
Bitame Lucia Nursery and Primary School is a project initiated by the Cameroon Association for the Protection and Education of the Child (CAPEC). The project aimed to tackle one of the many problems that affect children in our community. This area is mainly rural and children face a lot of difficulties to obtain basic education. Literacy rate is very low. Even though the government created a government school in Nkolfoulou, it has not supported it with adequate infrastructure and teachers. Parents have therefore preferred to use their children in the farms. Our Mission is to provide education to the children of the rural area of Nkolfoulou, so they would not be deprived of education based on their locality or family financial circumstances. CAPEC wish is to put up a structure which will guarantee low cost fees for poor families to create jobs and become self sufficient. CAPEC attempts to bridge the gap between rich and poor by offering good quality education for the most underprivileged. The Nursery and Primary School will benefit children from Nkolfoulou village and children from other neighbouring villages of Baaba, Ntinga, Nkabo, Eboko and Essebi. Villages shall benefit making a total number of more than 2000 children. LocationNkolfoulou lies within a Subdivision (Soa), 12km from the capital Yaounde. It is a village outskirts of Yaounde in Centre Province of Cameroon with about 6000 inhabitants, mostly women and children. Their main economic activity is small farming. Project DescriptionThe aim of the construction of the school is in response to some of the problems being faced by our children as a result of the irrelevant nature of our educational system which is highly examination centered characterized with over crowded classrooms. Its also a highly teacher centered system with children not receiving individual attention. The school seeks to introduce a child centered system and promote value based education and basic life skills, since the campus is located outside of the distracting urban area of Yaoundé, in a safe and quiet environment. This means that children will be educated in a better, natural learning environment. BeneficiariesThe beneficiaries of this project shall be underprivileged children from 6 villages namely Nkolfoulou, Baaba, Ntinga, Nkabo, Eboko, and Essebi Villages. Project DetailsCAPEC has purchased land up to 2000 Sq Meter to contain the following structure:
How You Can HelpBy becoming a donor for the School Construction Sponsorship Program, you can help guarantee, that children from low income families have the basic right to education. Your donation will help fund the construction of our school in Nkolfoulou, Cameroon. We intend to begin next academic year. Most of the kids in the area are HIV/AIDS orphans who would not receive an education otherwise. For this project, we shall be in need of an architect to design the school for us free of charge, a donation in form of cash and material support to build the school, and builders to volunteer their services. We hereby wish to invite your renowned development institutions which are involved in construction, to come to our support in order to enable us provide education for these deprived kids. Please if you want to help CAPEC achieve its goals, don’t hesitate to write to us or call. |
